The Rain Forest Leaf design was inspired by the Ti plant of the Hawaiian and other South Pacific islands. If botany isn't your strong point, according to Wikipedia, the Ti plant is a Cordyline fructosa, and has a number of common names including Cabbage Palm, Good Luck Plant (I like that one) and Palm Lily!

The cast Rain Forest Leaf is quite large measuring 20 cm x 10 cm (8" x 4"), but it is just as simple to use as any of Colour de Verre's smaller, embellishment moulds.

On the back of the mould is an integrated slumping surface that allows individual leaves to be shaped into perfect hors d'oeuvre and dessert plates.  Three, five, or more Rain Forest Leaves can be grouped, tacked together, and slumped to form spectacular, decorative platters.

The mould itself is 22.5 cm x 15 cm x 4 cm (9.75" x 6" x 1.5”) . The fill weight is 120 to 130 grams.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDS THE USE  OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97, WHICH IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA).

Give the mould 3-4 thin, even coats of Primo Primer kiln wash, using a soft artist's brush to apply the Primer (Colour de Verre recommends that you do NOT use a haik brush, as this will not pick up the necessary fine detail).  Use a hair dryer to completely dry each coat before applying the next.
