Scarabs and Ankhs

This mould has seven scarab designs on one side and four ankh designs on the other.  Both are classic Egyptian motifs and the images are sized perfectly for jewellery.

The fill weights for the scarab are 15, 12, and 5 grams, with the scarabs ranging in size from approximately 38 mm to 20 mm. The ankh fill weights are 4, 2, and 0.5 grams, and they range in 57 mm to 25 mm.  Colour de Verre recommends the use of fine frits for the ankhs, and medium frits for the scarabs.  

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDS THE USE  OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97, WHICH IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA). 

Give the mould 3-4 thin, even coats of Primo Primer kiln wash, using a soft artist's brush to apply the Primer (Colour de Verre recommends that you do NOT use a haik brush, as this will not pick up the necessary fine detail).  Use a hair dryer to completely dry each coat before applying the next.
